Lyrics (Powerpop Compilation Album)

Happy when broken

I see a bed rolling down the street
The wind blows by and my hair goes neat
I’m looking down and I’ve got no feet
Oh god I’m not all there
The colours flown from my vacant mind
Now I’m frustrated and behind
I’m lost at sea and I cannot find
My way back to the shore
Oh god I’m not all there

Happy when broken
Happy when broken
‘Cause I do not hurt

I feel so numb I don’t feel regret
Now my future is almost set
But the concrete may still be wet
Oh god I’m not all there
Oh god I’m not all there

Chorus

Please don’t try and save me from this void
I know it’s wrong but it’s my void
At least the sky is made of gold and velvet
Silver rain falls here

Happy when broken

Falling for You

I’ll meet you out in the pub at nine
I got a clean shirt on and my shoes are shined
You won’t have to pay it’s all on me today
I can’t recall what this town was like
Before I had you round you’re a real good sprite
The funny things you say brighten up my day

I think I’m falling for you
These feelings my heart says it’s true
I’m always thinking of you

I look for you in my dreams at night
And when I wake you’re the first thing on my mind
It’s good to have you round to chase away the clouds
I put you up on a pedestal
Because I think that you’re so beautiful
I try to impress you but I just play the fool

I think I’m falling for you
These feelings my heart says it’s true
I’m always thinking of you

I’m falling, falling, falling for you
I’m falling, falling, falling for you

Instrumental

I think I’m falling for you
These feelings my heart says it’s true
I’m always thinking of you

I’m falling, falling, falling for you
I’m falling, falling, falling for you
I’m falling, falling, falling for you
I’m falling, falling, falling for you

A New Generation

Drink the barrel ‘til it’s dry
Throw the casket in the sky
Kick the floorboards ‘til their bruised
And breathe the chimney

As the poison changes tack
Like something sharp against your back
Tread the welcome mat of brainless conversation
It’s taking a hold

A new generation;
These are the livers of life
Can anyone pay the bill?
We’ll settle it later.
A new generation
Are making the best of their lives
Buying the sunday shares
And handing them over

The taxi brings you from the hills
You pay the tax and take your pills
They raise the bar and see you ten
So have a good time with your friends.

As the darkness draws the day
And sows the drunken escapade
The courting policemen stand outside
And watch the wildlife
It’s taking a hold

The new generation;
It’s like a reality show
A beautiful people place
And they’re having a party

A new generation
Are pitching a tent in the wind
And everybody lives for now
They’re screaming ‘I’m drunk and I’m proud’

When we get older, will you know my name?
We could be different, I hope we’ll be the same
Can you believe we cheat our lives and try to get away?

When we get older, when we get older, will you know my name?
When we get older, when we get older, will we be the same?
When we get older, when we get older, will you still know my name?
When we get older, when we get older, will we still be the same?

The Light Of Love

It’s a feeling that you know so well
When you’re standing at the gates of hell
There’s a shiver running through me
Shiver running through me
Don’t you know I’ve got a heart of glass
If you drop it then it just might smash
Into a thousand little pieces
Thousand little pieces

There is a war inside my heart
That’s raging on this can’t go on

We used to go out almost all the time
We’d put some music on and drink and I
Might feel a little more emotion
Little more emotion
It’s took a while but I’ve finally learned
That if you play with fire you’ll get burned
I was drawn towards the flame girl
Drawn towards the flame girl

I’ve seen you out amongst the crowds
They adore you I did once too

Instrumental

There’s a flicker still inside my heart
All it takes to set it offs a spark
And the flames they might engulf me
Flames they might engulf me
But I’m happy just to let it burn
Even though it always seems to hurt
That’s the thing about the light of
Thing about the light of

The light of love
The light of love
The light of love

Turn it all around

What’s the matter lately?
Please don’t try to hate me
I’m wearing all my weakness
And dressing like a clown
If you decide to leave me
It truly will bereave me
Can you take a chance?
I’ll turn it all around

A bond of trust
Became a slave to rust
But if you choose to stay
You’ll not regret the day
I’ll show you how a broken man
Can change and learn to understand

I was such a loser
And a heart abuser
Playing with emotions
Getting people down
I’ve seen what I have broken
My words are badly spoken
But can we make amends?
I’ll turn it all around

Well come what may
I am reborn today
Before you now there stands
A stranger to the man
Who cast you out and lost himself
I’ve learnt that you’re my only wealth

Whats The Matter Lately?
Whats The Matter Lately?

I was scared of my emotions
Like a child before a man

I have found a saviour
From the bad behaviour
I will be devoted
And never let you down
But if you want to move on
And find a better human
I wish you all the best
You turned it all around

Lay your Soul Bare

There’s a place in my head
Where the people are made of lead
And they don’t break they don’t shake
They don’t even shatter
By the games that you people play

There’s a hole in my heart
And I don’t know where to start
To find a concrete to complete
The heart and it’s matter
Will I ever make it to the sun
Now it beats like a drum

Lay your soul bare now
Lay your soul bare now
Then we can make a start
Lay your soul bare now
Lay your soul bare now
Then we can make a start

There’s a place we can go
Where our feelings are put on show
And the razorblade necklace
I made when I was thirteen
Will cut right through your soul
You can’t hide away from me

Chorus

Can make a start
Can make a start
And this will end

Chorus

Searching For Something

When you know that you’re halfway there
Flying high in the atmosphere
Searching for the prize
Feeling like you’ve got it in your sights

When you get to the halfway house
You believe, you believe, you believe,
People think it’s strange
And foolish to the point of being brave

I’ve been searching for something
I’ve been dreaming to hard
But the distance is never too far

When you’re stuck on the mountainside
From the wind and the rain you can’t hide
Aiming for the top, then you can relax and let it drop
People say that you waste your time
But your alive, your alive, your alive
It’s better for the soul
To always be the chaser of a goal

I’ve been searching for something
I’ve been dreaming to hard
But the distance is never too far

Instrumental

Far, Its not too far
It’s not too far,
It’s not too far
